Macmıllan Englısh Study Dıctıonary

This dictionary provides a collection of 2500 essential words for learners of English. It is designed for learners with a limited vocabulary. The explanations direct the learner to explore the language through examples of words in context, often complemented by illustrations. It has also been designed to familiarize learners with the use of the dictionary as a learning tool. Learners are encouraged to expand their vocabulary and understanding of English through the use of special language, spelling and pronunciation notes. The dictionary includes collocations which enables the learner to see which other words are commonly used with a certain word. For example, the word bicycle - pedal a bicycle, ride a bicycle (NEVER drive a bicycle). For those who want further practice, a series of directed exercises is included at the back of the book.
